Venezuela Receives “Reinforced Cooperation” from China

  • on Friday, January 9, 2015
  • President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, gathered this past Wednesday with China's General Secretary Xi Jinping under the China-CELAC (Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos) Forum in order to address economic questions and the consequences of the decline of the price of oil.

During the meeting, the Chinese representative had provided his financial support for Caracas to overcome problems during the expansion of bilateral trade and the daily purchase of one million barrels of oil.

The Beijing Government is considered a strategic ally of Venezuela, its principal investor and its second oil consumer aside from the United States, with a volume of 6400,000 barrels daily.
